'Mat Rempit' ...that is the name given to the the notorious bikers of Malaysia for those of you who dunno what it is. Just think of them as wannabe Harley riders of Malaysia..own does not own a Harley Davidson... Of course, not all bike riders in Malaysia are Mat Rempit, but it is easy to distinguish one from other decent bikers... notable features of a Mat Rempit,
1) choice of bikes; Honda EX5, RXZ, Suzuki 125 scooter etc; (with purple colored shock absorber)
2) dress code; 'tight' carrot cut jeans and adidas/converse sneakers... with junk tee
3) normally ride in groups or 'herds'...mostly youngsters and teenagers 18 yrs - 25yrs
4) very nocturnal; only appear on highways and busy roads between 8pm to 4am in the morning...
5) they like to do a 'wheelie' or 'superman' all of sudden on the road...
6) regular customers and stat contributors of hospitals across the country!

To all foreigners or tourist beware, these rempitters can be a real nuisance and hazard on the road....plus they also have a very hostile nature towards authorities and other road users....Clashes with cops and performing dangerous stunts are an integral part of a Mat Rempit life...hah....
To my suprise, i found that the Qataris also have a similar 'rempit' culture BUT...these oil sheikhs rempit in their 4 wheel drives rather with an EX5 motorbike!....These silver spooned Qataris gathered at the sand dunes every weekend to show off their drifting and cornering skills.. check out the pics below..i have never seen so many 4wds at one time in my life!
This is a serious case of vehicle abuse....
